In this section of out book we discuss the specific forms of poker. Covered are holdem, Omaha, seven card stud, lowball draw, London lowball, and high-low split eight-or-better. Some of these games are usually played pot-limit, and others no-limit. The main adjustments the pot-limit player must make in no-limit play is knowing when to overbet the pot size, and recognizing when he is being charged too much money to stay in the pot. However, the principles of play are similar, so for games like holdem and lowball that may be played with either betting structure, we compress both pot-limit and no-limit.

As you read, pay close attention to the pot size and amount of money in front the players whenever a decision is made. The right play on a big-bet poker hand heavily depends on these factors.
We strongly urge you to read about all the poker forms, including the ones you have no interest in playing, to get the maximum out of the website. It is likely that some valuable ideas will be discussed in one poker form that can be applied to another. Also, by seeing a concept applied to several different poker games, you can better understand and remember it.

Anything you make a choice which is awarded a negative score, you have really made a ghastly play. We feel quizzes are a useful tool for measuring you progress and deciding whether you are “combat ready.”
